Country & possibility

From 60 second vignettes to compelling long-form documentary, Bella's work is at the heart of exceptional storytelling- Christa Powell, Topology Creative Director

Documenting the journey of emerging artists from Mt Isa to Townsville was a fulfilling experience. Witnessing the bonds formed with Topology mentors and the challenges they overcame inspired me in my own life. Topology is great at fostering environments of support, openness, encouragement, and zero judgment, creating a space where creativity can flourish. It was an honour to capture this & be a part of this journey with everyone involved.

The Looking Forward, Looking Back Project was a nod to Slim Dusty, his relationship with Indigenous Australians & a celebration of country music. The project involved bringing together headlining artists with emerging artists for a final performance in Townsville. In the year leading up to the final performance, Topology travelled to remote locations providing mentoring support and opportunity to those who would otherwise not have access to this. Mt Isa was one of these remote locations and so the journey of these emerging artists were followed to create vignette pieces which were displayed prior to their performance.
